LIFE'S SHORT, ADOPT A SAVANNAH!
When I think about how many years I've spent considering an exotic, spotted Savannah kitten that would have wild blood lines, domestic family demeanor, and grow to be a large, loving and impressive family member with a leopard-like spotted coat, I wonder 'what took so long?'
The truth is, I was the only thing getting in my way of owning a Savannah cat. Once I realized how I had talked myself out of something my heart really wanted to do so many times, it became a clear and easy decision.
Moments later, I purchased a beautiful male who we named Manjaro. I will admit that I took things a little further than expected, and after falling in love with Savannahs...well...I became a breeder and founded Manjaro Cats. That, I assure you, did not happen overnight, and it did not happen without great sacrifice, diligent study, and hard work.
Now I make it my day's work taking the best care possible for my Savannah Cats, raising their beautiful kittens, so that I can experience the joy of paying it forward to someone else. I am helping others achieve the same epiphany that I had experienced, that it is truly up to our hearts when determining who we decide to share our homes and love with!
We share ours with Savannah cats and we're here to share our Savannahs and their amazing spots and personalities with you! That's MY mission, and I am sticking to it!
The name “Manjaro” is derived from the intriguingly mysterious Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, with all of our breeding cats named after its various peaks. We named our first acquired male stud
“Manjaro,” hence the name “Manjaro Cats". Our family has taken a special interest in the mountain hoping to make the trip to Africa not just to see the raw beauty of the land, but to trek to
the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
We are a TICA registered cattery specializing in breeding and perfecting SBT Savannah kittens that have the wild look of the African Serval with a gentle, domestic cat temperament.
Our kittens are born in our home, socializing with our two children, friends, and family. Our cats and kittens are an extension of the family and are treated as such, receiving the finest diet, exceptional health care and clean, sound living conditions. Since we are a family-owned business, each of us devotes our time and heart in assisting to raise and nurture these fascinating cats. We spend several hours a day socializing, playing with, feeding and caring for each and every one of our cats and kittens.
The goal in our breeding program is to produce kittens that are strong and healthy with confident and outgoing temperaments. Inky black spots, long lanky legs, triangular faces with high set ears are just a few of the physical attributes that we strive for. Health, temperament, and conformation to breed standards are the primary goals of our TICA registered cattery. Human interaction, love, and exceptional veterinary care are provided from the first day of your kitten’s life.
All of our Savannah cats are routinely evaluated before, during and after pregnancy by the Theriogenology team at Cornell University to ensure that each individual queen is in supurb condition before breeding. Our Cats are also periodically tested by our local veterinarian to ensure that they have healthy hearts, and are FeLV and FIV negative. They have also all tested negative for PK Deficency.
All of our breeding cats were hand selected from across the U.S. and Canada. After months of careful research, we chose our queens and studs from the most elite Savannah lines to ensure that
the kittens we produce are second to none.
Breeding Savannah cats is not just a business for us; it's a passion that our family shares for the breed, helping it continue to develop to the highest standards, in addition to having a simple love for this unique and noble cat.
I am a lifelong resident of Upstate New York and a lifelong lover of animals. Over the years I have been involved with fostering numerous cats and dogs, worked with rescue organizations and
have cared for hurt and/or abandoned wild animals.
My passion for Savannah cats began years ago while researching exotic cat breeds, I stumbled across a photo of a gorgeous F1 Savannah. Needless to say that it was love at first sight and my family and I made the decision to embark on a journey; to become intimately involved in all aspects of life with the Savannah.
